Days 1–2Baseline practice. Identify your weakest question types.
Days 3–5Arithmetic Reasoning: fractions, percentages, ratios and word problems.
Days 6–7Math Knowledge: algebra, equations, exponents and geometry.
Days 8–9Word Knowledge: vocabulary, roots, prefixes and synonyms.
Days 10–11Paragraph Comprehension: main idea, detail and inference.
Days 12–13Mixed timed practice. Attack your weakest remaining areas.
Day 14Light review, formulas and vocabulary. Get good sleep.
HOW TO PREPARE

Recruiting personnel are not permitted to coach applicants with locally developed ASVAB questions or test aids. This page therefore focuses on what to study, how to organize your study time, and general test-taking strategies.
Find your weak subjects
Start with an official sample/practice resource. Write down which content areas—not specific test items—give you the most trouble.
Refresh the academic skill
Review the underlying math, English, science or technical coursework. Work the skill until you understand why the method works.
Practice independently
Use approved official/free preparation resources rather than recruiter-created questions or answer banks.
Recheck your weak areas
After studying, use another practice set to see whether the same content areas are still causing problems.

General habits that help.
Read directions carefully
Make sure you understand what each section is asking before you begin.
Read the whole question
Do not rush past words such as NOT, EXCEPT, units of measure or other details that change what is being asked.
Manage your time
Do not let one difficult question consume the time you need for the rest of a section.
Eliminate bad choices
When you are unsure, rule out choices you know are wrong and make the best decision from what remains.
Know your test format
Computer-adaptive and paper-and-pencil versions have different navigation and timing considerations.
Sleep before the test
Prepare ahead of time rather than trying to cram everything the night before.
